MPVs are perfect for families or businesses that prioritize practicality and comfort in a vehicle. There are many models from different manufacturers that can be characterized by different features and designed for special consumer preferences.

In this article, we’ll talk about a few of the newer models that have been out recently. This list will be based on performance, comfort, and design, though not technically a “best 7 seater MPV Malaysia” list.

Perodua New Alza

The Alza is well recognized for its dimensions and modern outlook, which fits Malaysians who prefer an economical car with enough space for passengers and luggage. It has an exquisite look with contemporary design and graphics which gives it an extra oomph.

The MPV can comfortably carry up to 7 persons, so full families would love it. And they would find their rides comfortable as the seats are well-padded, with enough headroom and legroom. There’s also cup holders, pockets, and a boot for cargo.

Its fuel-efficient engine makes this vehicle the perfect companion for Malaysian roads and traffic. Definitely good for daily commute to work and other occasions, and for traveling long distances.

If you’re concerned about your safety, you don’t have to. The Alza comes equipped with sophisticated and innovative features that contribute to the comfort of the car and the feeling of security. Depending on the variant, it contains Touch screen infotainment systems, Bluetooth connectivity, Rear parking sensors, Dual Air bags etc., which makes the driving and traveling safer and comfortable for both the driver as well as the passengers.

Prices range from RM 62,500 to RM 75,500.

Toyota Veloz

A 1.5L engine that pumps out 106 HP is enough oomph for daily commute and short trips. And that’s what the Toyota Veloz offers. But that’s not all.

Its sleek design stands out on the road to passerbys, while its spacious interior translates to a comfortable riding experience for your family.

There’s also a bunch of advanced features available in this vehicle so you have no worries about your safety on the road: Toyota Safety Sense (that comes with pre-collision warning, pre-collision braking assist, lane departure warning, lane departure prevention, pedal misoperation control, front departure alert, and adaptive cruise control), 6 airbags, vehicle stability control with traction control, blind spot monitor, rear cross traffic alert, security solar tint, and hill start assist. woah that’s a lot of features.

Offering RM 95,000 for its blend of style, functionality, and reliability feels criminal almost. Definitely a solid choice for families seeking a touch of luxury in their vehicle.

Mitsubishi Xpander

This particular MPV is fitted for adventure and comes stock with the features to match. A 1.5L 4A91 MIVEC incline-4 engine that generates 103 hp and 141 Nm of torque, options for 5-speed manual transmission or 4-speed automatic transmission, and minimum ground clearance of 225mm tells me this vehicle is rugged.

That’s not to say it’s uncomfortable. The MPV has a spacious interior, much like the rest of the cars on this list. It’s perfect in every way for any long trips you have planned.

For RM 100,980, the Mitsubishi XPander offers great value for being able to tackle both urban jungles and weekend escapes.

Toyota Innova Zenix

Every other car on this list has been reasonably affordable albeit trying to provide some premium experience. The Innova Zenix is different.

For RM 165,009 to RM 202,000, this vehicle offers you only premium features. It is powered by a 1987 cc, 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces 152 hp and 188 nm of torque. The gearbox provides its CVT (continuously variable transmission).

The manufacturers making hybrid and petrol variants shows their commitment to catering to the environmentally conscious, as well as people more performance-oriented.

While in the driving seat, you can rest easy knowing that your family is safe (central locking and power door locks are available) and comfortable (air conditioning, heater, rear A/C vents, keyless entry, vanity mirror, and power windows provide hella comfort).

This MPV is a complete recipe for a top- tier family vehicle.

Conclusion

Just like every decision with a bunch of options, you need to find the right balance between what you need, what you want, and what you can afford. If you prioritize fuel efficiency, space, safety, or luxury, you’ll definitely find an MPV in Malaysia that’s perfect for you.

So take your time while considering all the options before you. This is a long time investment, you wouldn’t want to make a mistake.
